We are back at our studio providing face-to-face instruction, as well as continuing with virtual lessons for our students!

In person or virtual..

In March 2020, due to Covid-19, we closed our studio doors and quickly moved our instruction to a virtual platform. It was a learning curve for all of us, and we were pleasantly pleased with the results and the engagement we got from our students. Because of the success we had, it was decided that we would continue with virtual lessons for students who found it difficult to get to and from our studio. It has also worked well for students living outside of our city and outside of our province! If you need our help, we can “zoom” to you!

Safety Measures

Those families who chose to come to our studio for in person instruction, we opened our doors on September 8, 2020. Thanks to the expertise of occupational health and safety people, along with medical professionals, we have done our very best to make our studio a safe place to be in this unprecedented time.

The Science of Reading

This year we have students ranging from grade one to grade eight and have added three new teachers to help support our kids. Although Covid-19 has added an extra element to our school day, we are looking forward to an exciting year of learning! Literacy instruction is our focus, and we are keeping current with the latest research on the Science of Reading. We continue to improve our approach, following the lead of scientific research in this area. Direct and explicit teaching has proven to be so effective for all students, but particularly so for those who find reading a challenge.

Math Foundation

Many of our students also take advantage of our math instruction. Our program provides a strong foundation in number sense, fact fluency and application to real life situations. Continuous and spiral review ensures that all concepts are reinforced daily leaving little opportunity to forget! Entrepreneurship is part of our math program, providing optimum opportunities for applying the math skills they are learning. With expanded enrollment, we have also expanded our Entrepreneurship Class, one for older students and one for our beginning entrepreneurs.

Scheduling your Sessions

We offer a variety of schedule choices and try hard to be flexible and accommodating in order to support those students who are coming to Roadways Literacy Studio from their neighbourhood schools.
